Flight Centre’s The Captain’s Choice packages must be purchased and paid in full at the time of paying the deposit for your airfares. The Captain’s Choice packages cannot be added or upgraded once the airfares have been issued or ticketed. The Captain’s Choice packages are non-refundable for changes of mind or cancellation by you (subject to your refund and remedy rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act).

The Captain’s Value package refers to travel within New Zealand, Australia and South Pacific, departing New Zealand.
Captain’s Popular and Captain’s Indulge
The Captain’s Popular and Captain’s Indulge packages refer to all international destinations departing New Zealand.
Price Drop Protection
Should the price of your selected Captain’s Choice package fare fall below your purchase price, within 30 days after purchasing a Captain’s Choice package, we will give you the difference by issuing a Flight Centre voucher. Price Drop Protection only applies to airfares (not accommodation, other travel or to holiday packages) purchased in conjunction with The Captain’s Choice packages, and may only be claimed once. Price Drop Protection only applies to genuine airfares from airlines and businesses registered with The New Zealand Companies Office, for travel that originates in and departs from New Zealand. Fare must be in writing and presented to us on the same day as it was quoted. Price Drop Protection will be calculated based on the difference between cash prices and must be available, able to be booked by the general public when you bring it to us and be for the same dates, airlines, number of passengers, cabin classes and flight numbers. The written fare must be presented to us on the same day of quoting showing the date and the final price including all applicable fees and charges (including booking/service fees and all charges for your original form of payment) in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Fares available due to membership of a group or corporate entity or subscription to a closed group are excluded. Should the fare be less than your original Captain’s Choice fare we will issue a Flight Centre voucher to you for the value of the difference. The $19 advertised price is for the Captain’s Value package which is valid for travel within New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific departing New Zealand. The Captain’s Popular and Captain’s Indulge packages are valid for all destinations worldwide, from $49 and $99 respectively. Flight Centre’s voucher will be valid for 12 months only from date of issue. If you wish to make a claim for Price Drop Protection prior to full payment for your fare, you must pay for your fare in full at the time of making your Price Drop Protection claim.
How can I make a claim for Price Drop Protection?
Step 1: Bring us an available fare up to 30 days after you have purchased The Captain’s Choice package
Your quoted fare must be in writing and must relate to standard airfares available to the general public. Your available fare must be presented to us on the same day as it was quoted and within 30 days of The Captain’s Choice package purchased. Travel must originate in and depart from New Zealand. Price Drop Protection only applies to airfares (not accommodation, other travel or to holiday packages) purchased in conjunction with The Captain’s Choice package, and may only be claimed once. The fare must show the date it was quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). If your fare is from a website, it must show the final price payable at the final payment stage and must show all applicable fees and charges. Price Drop Protection will be calculated based on the difference between cash prices. If you originally paid Flight Centre with long term finance, all applicable merchant charges still apply and Price Drop Protection will be calculated on cash pricing. A claim for Price Drop Protection only applies to fares that have been paid in full.

You can provide genuine quoted airfares in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) from:
- Other New Zealand travel agencies registered with the New Zealand Companies office
- Airlines; and
- New Zealand businesses registered with The New Zealand Companies Office
- Flight Centre and www.flightcentre.co.nz
Step 2: Confirmation that the fare is genuine and available
We will then need to confirm that the fare is genuine, available and able to be booked by the general public when you present it to us. If it is, we will give you the difference back by providing you with a Flight Centre voucher. The Flight Centre voucher will be valid for 12 months only from date of issue.
If we believe your written fare contains an error in the pricing of the fare, or that the pricing, fare or cabin class offered is no longer available to book on the same date, airline and flight number, for the same number of passengers, we may decline to provide you with the voucher for the difference in price.
Price Drop Protection Voucher
Limit of one voucher per person and is valid for redemption within any Flight Centre store in New Zealand only. The voucher must be presented to a Flight Centre consultant at the time of booking to redeem this credit. The voucher is valid for new bookings only, for 12 months only from date of issue. The voucher may be redeemed in whole or part during the validity period. Where used in part, no change will be given; only the remaining balance left on voucher. Any unused balance may be used against future purchases, but will not be refunded or credited when the voucher expires. The voucher is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash, traveller’s cheques, cash passports, Flight Centre gift cards or any other form of currency. Standard Flight Centre booking conditions apply. The voucher must be used in-store or over the phone and cannot be used for online purchases. Flight Centre reserves the right to deem the voucher void if it has been tampered with or copied.
VISA AND PASSPORT CHECK
All travellers must have a valid passport for international travel and many countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of return and some countries require a machine-readable passport. When assisting with an international travel booking, we will assume that all travellers on the booking have a valid New Zealand passport. If this is not the case, you must let us know. It is important that you ensure you have valid passports, visas and re-entry permits which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility (except to the extent caused by fault on our part). If you need information regarding visas, passports and other travel document requirements for your trip, please contact your Travel Expert. We can provide you with general information on visa and passport requirements that apply to international travel bookings you make with us. Our Travel Experts can also obtain more specific information from an external visa advisory service provider on your behalf (if you wish, we can assist you to obtain visas through this external service and fees will apply). We do not warrant the accuracy of information provided by any external service and accept no liability for any loss or damage which you may suffer in reliance on it (except to the extent caused by fault on our part).
NEXT DAY BUSINESS REFUND
Where you seek a refund for a cancelled booking for which payment has been made to the supplier, we will not provide a refund to you until we receive the funds from that supplier. However, if you purchased The Captain’s Choice package ($19/$49/$99) you will receive any applicable refund to which you are entitled on the next business day for cancellations processed prior to 12pm New Zealand Standard Time, however this is bank dependent. Not valid for any other booking. If your travel is non-refundable, no refund will be due. All usual airline and Flight Centre cancellation fees will be deducted from your refund.
SUPPLIER INSOLVENCY REFUND GUARANTEE
In the event that the supplier of a product or service you have booked with us becomes insolvent and fails to supply that product or service, we guarantee the supplier's obligation to refund you the cost of the un-availed (unused) component of your booking with that supplier. Not valid for any other booking.
This discount applies to each person who has purchased a Captain’s Indulge package. Accommodation Discount can only be used through Infinity Holidays for hotel arrangements on your journey for the applicable booking. Booking must include a minimum spend of $750 per person on accommodation for the Captain’s Indulge package ($99) in order for the discount to apply. Not valid for use for any other booking.
TRAVEL INSURANCE EXCESS CREDIT
This applies to Cover-More travel insurance “YourCover” policies only, sold by Flight Centre (NZ) Ltd. When a Cover-More travel insurance “YourCover” policy is purchased (and paid in full) on the same itinerary as a particular The Captain’s Choice package, should you make an eligible claim on that policy, we will credit the value of the excess deducted from your approved claim up to a maximum of $100 for The Captain’s Popular package ($49) and $250 for The Captain’s Indulge package ($99) towards your Cover-More insurance excess in the event of an approved claim. To obtain your excess credit, simply tell your Cover-More claims officer at the time of claim and complete a credit form with your The Captain’s Choice package proof of purchase. Once your claim has been approved by Cover-More, your Travel Expert will process your insurance excess credit. Not valid for any other booking.
SUPPLIER CHANGE AND CANCELLATION FEES
Cancelled bookings may also incur supplier fees, which can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. Supplier fees may also apply where a booking is changed and when tickets or documents are re-issued. Where we incur any liability for a supplier cancellation fee for any booking which you change or cancel, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of that fee. Where you seek a refund for a cancelled booking for which payment has been made to the supplier, we will not provide a refund to you until we receive the funds from that supplier, unless you have “Next Business Day Refund” as part of your The Captain’s Choice package.
BONUS FLIGHT CENTRE REWARDS
The Bonus Flight Centre Rewards will be earned when the customer pays for their holiday, including The Captain’s Choice package, with a Flight Centre Mastercard. Bonus rewards are allocated monthly to the Flight Centre Mastercard that is used to make payment. Flight Centre Mastercard Terms & Conditions will also apply.
